Faith Formation

Our mission at the Congregational Church is for children to grow deeper in their faith through fellowship and community. In support of intergenerational connectedness, children and youth are present during the first 15 minutes of the worship service and dismissed after children’s time to attend Sunday School. Children of all ages are invited to come forward and participate in Children’s Time. On specific occasions children will remain in the worship service and activity packets are available. Children remain in service during the Christmas Eve Service, the Mardi Gras Service, and the days Sunday School is closed.

Our Christian Education team works closely with our FFFE director to provide strong Biblical-based curriculum. Students in Pre-K through sixth grade are being taught from the Spark Lectionary. Spark is designed to allow students to explore Bible stories and develop a deeper sense of faith as they take away new meanings. Each leader guide has age-appropriate material. Students in seventh through twelve grades are being taught from Echo the Story. The interactive video, creative workbooks and fun games help to retell the Bible from beginning to end. Each classroom works to provide a fun and engaging environment to learn God’s truth in an applicable way. Teachers strive to help our students make their faith their own.

Bible Presentation
THIRD GRADE BIBLE PRESENTATION marks a very special day in your child’s religious journey. In the fall of their 3rd grade year, students are presented with a personalized Bible during a designated Sunday worship service.

pageant6Christmas Pageant –  In December, our children and youth performed “Signs of Christmas,” a comical story about a group of kids, who search for signs, that tell the Christmas story. They made everyone laugh and smile with their fun songs.

At the Congregational Church, confirmation officially starts in 9th grade. We meet every Wednesday night from 7:15-8:30 pm. Each student receives a mentor to act as their spiritual guide through their journey.

Students in Confirmation:

  • Practice and deepen their connection with God
  • Explore many important faith questions
  • Go on the High School Youth Retreat
  • Go on the a mission trip or  NYE
  • Spend the year being together as a group and  learning about each other
  • Make friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime.

Our youth group is a welcoming and inclusive community of Middle School (6th thru 8th grade) and High School (9th thru 12th grade) youth. Every second and fourth Sunday of the month our youth group meets in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00am -10:00am. Students have fun and foster community through lock-ins, games, events, Sunday School, and discussions about Biblical truths. Our youth group is very active in service projects that help the members of our congregation and in our community. They collect food and money donations for Channel One Food Bank, assist parents in our congregation by participating in Holiday Helping hands, raise funding during our annual all-church Pancake Breakfast and host the Easter Egg Hunt for the children.

Register your child for lock-ins and mission trips by filling a Youth Consent Form. For any further questions or comments, please contact our FFFE director at 506-289-4581 ext. 3.

“A Day In The Park” – Our youth group partnered with the Civitan Foundation for one day of special programming dedicated to children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. The verse for the day was 1 Peter 4:10: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Each youth portrayed a Christ-like example of servanthood to all the participants.

Halloween Carnival – Our Christian Education team and our youth group graciously host a Halloween carnival on the last Sunday of October.  From games to crafts, this a fun church family event for all ages.
