The culmination of our Lenten Season and Holy Week is our Easter Sunday Service at 10 AM!  We’ll celebrate the Risen Christ with beautiful choir music and the preached Word.

We will celebrate Easter Sunrise Service in our very own Memorial Garden. It will be a quiet service, reliving the sacred story of Christ’s resurrection. Chairs will be provided for those unable to stand. View bulletin here. (No livestream available)

Don’t want to hide eggs from your children or grandchildren this Easter? Consider hiring our youth to stuff and hide eggs in your lawn the night before Easter. This offering is a fundraiser for the summer trip to the border. For details, contact pastorshannon@congoroch.org

To commemorate the crucifixion of Christ we will have a Tenebrae service featuring a reading of the Passion narrative and the extinguishing of candles in steadily increasing darkness.

In an intimate service we will remember Jesus’ last meal with his disciples with ritual foot washing and Holy Communion.

Following our Palm Sunday worship service, stay for a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser to support those going on the summer service trip. Free-will offering appreciated.

Following worship, we will be having a soup and salad potluck.  Everyone is invited to bring a crock pot of their favorite soup or a salad to share.  The church will provide drinks, bread, and cookies.  If you know what you will be bringing, please sign-up here.

EVERYONE is invited to Rec Center (21 Elton Hills Drive NW) to skate or just spend some time in fellowship together. Friends and children of all ages are welcome. Skate rentals and rink costs have been paid by the church. You are invited to bring snacks or drinks to share. When you enter the main entrance check in at the front desk and they will point you to the proper rink.

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent with a solemn service of confession and reflection. It will be a time for us to start a journey of purposeful reflection on the path that Jesus walked toward the cross and ultimately the empty tomb.

Join us in person or online Sunday, December 24 at 6 PM for a traditional service with music, carols, and hearing the story of the birth of Christ. The service will include an impromptu pageant, beautiful music from our Chancel and Bell Choirs, the preached Word and candlelight singing of Silent Night.

Join us Sunday, December 24 at 10 AM for an upbeat and spirited worship service as we sing carols and celebrate the gift of Jesus. Plan to stay after for fellowship time with coffee and treats.

Join us on Thursday, December 21 at 6:00 PM in the sanctuary or livestream online. As joyous as the Christmas season can be with family and friends, it can also be a time of deep grief and pain.  We do not always feel happy at Christmas and it can be hard to find time to be honest about our struggles during this joyful season.  Our Blue Christmas worship is a time for us to honor where we are and to give voice to our struggles.

The Stewardship and Benevolence Ministry Team will be hosting a Thank Offering Luncheon following worship on Sunday, November 12 to celebrate our successful stewardship campaign and say thank you to all who have turned in Estimate of Giving cards for 2024. The menu will include roasted pork and chicken sandwiches, baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw and dessert. Gluten free buns will be available. Trunk or Treat is back again at The Congregational Church UCC! All children are welcome to come trick or treat in costume! We will be gathering our cars, with trunks full of candy, on the lower lot following worship at 11:15 am - 1:00 PM. Folks are encouraged to wear costumes, bring lots of candy, and invite any and all children that you know.

Channel One’s 19th Annual Empty Bowls fund-raiser is a “To-Go” event again this year.  Gourmet soups and bread provided by local restaurants are pre-ordered online and then picked up on the days of the event, with an option to get a free hand-painted bowl and purchase specialty artisan-made bowls. Participating in Empty Bowls To-Go is an easy way to add variety to your take-out options and help your neighbor in the process. All funds raised from Empty Bowls will directly benefit those who are facing food insecurity.  In July 2023, Channel One served more than 25,000 households in the 14 counties it serves.

WE’RE GOING TO CELEBRATE OUR CHURCH’S 165TH BIRTHDAY!  Members and friends – both old and new – are invited to join us in worship and a potluck after, on Sunday, October 1.   Bring your favorite hot dish, side dish/salad, dessert, or buns for pulled pork.  Volunteers are also needed on Saturday for room set-up, and on Sunday for room re-set and dishwasher.
